An exciting partnership has begun between Greenhouse Arts and the Woodland Park Arts Alliance. Since our original gathering place burned down, we have been wondering where to meet. The Arts Alliance has access to a wonderful building on the main drag in the Park and have offered it to us to use. We love the vision of the Arts Alliance and its leader Ralph Holloway! We are kindred spirits, to be sure.
Our first gathering of the Fall was tonight, and we packed it out the Arts Alliance building with Greenhouse artists, using every chair in the place! Lots of excitement and momentum now as we begin to dream over how we can utilize this space, further the vision of the WPAA and see the arts really HAPPEN in our mountain town!
We are dreaming over the things we can do now to impact our community...from art classes and media specific groups to live concerts and open mic nights! We have a desire to reach out to the young artists in our community, too. It was such fun to see the excitement in our ranks tonight as we all caught a vision!
If you are anywhere near us this coming Friday, September 18th, PLEASE stop by the Arts Alliance building between 4 and 7 as Greenhouse will be taking part in the monthly Art Walk. This month we have three fabulous musicians tag teaming acoustic sets: Darren Thornberry, Michelle Patterson and Esther Sparks. On the walls will be the art of Christina Vilgiate and Rebecca Thornberry. Art Walk includes a wine and appetizer reception and multiple businesses and galleries open and displaying art work as well all along Hwy 24 in lovely downtown Woodland Park. Art Walk happens the third Friday of the month, so if you can't make this one, shoot for next month!
Come and see Greenhouse in action, considering joining us in our enthusiasm over the Woodland Park Arts Alliance by becoming a member, and celebrate this amazing turn of events in Greenhouse history!
